Why role-based access matters
As your team grows, you need control over who can create invoices, who can approve them, who can see financial reports, and who can manage settings. Without proper access control, you risk errors, fraud, and compliance issues.
Three seat types
ReadyBooks.ai now offers three types of team member seats:
- Admin seats — full access to all features including settings, team management, reports, and all modules. Admins can approve invoices, manage permissions, and configure GST settings.
- Pro seats — create and edit invoices, manage customers and vendors, and access assigned modules. Pro users can draft invoices for admin approval.
- Basic seats — view-only access to assigned sections. Perfect for team members who need to check invoice status or download reports without editing capabilities.
How it works in practice
A typical workflow looks like this: a Pro user creates a draft invoice for a customer. The admin reviews it, makes any corrections, and approves it for sending. The Basic user (perhaps an office assistant) can check the payment status but cannot modify anything. Every action is logged in the audit trail.
Setting up your team
Go to Settings > Team to invite members. Choose the seat type and assign module permissions. You can change permissions at any time without disrupting ongoing work.
Pricing
Admin seats are Rs. 399/month, Pro seats Rs. 199/month, and Basic seats Rs. 99/month. All prices are exclusive of GST. You can mix and match seat types based on your team's needs.
